iStar: Creating Travel Authorizations
Target audience: Faculty and Staff

This session will introduce you to iStar’s travel authorization system which manages the pre-trip approval with estimated costs. Participants will be able to create, view, and print travel authorizations. Come learn the skills to successfully submit a travel authorization within the new iStar Expense module. Participants will also be introduced to the iStar Learning Network where they may access on-demand, just-in-time online training.

iStar: Creating Expense Reports

iStar makes it easy to transform a handful of receipts into expense reports that meet established auditing standards, approval policies, and tax reporting requirements. The iStar Expense Module supports a variety of features designed to streamline your expense entry from providing defaults to importing credit card transactions. Report entries for expenses such as mileage, tuition reimbursement, tolls, airfare, conference fees, and parking will be discussed.

iStar: Requisitions: Creating and Managing

This session will introduce you to the new iStar automated procurement process. In iStar eProcurement, a requisition is an online form that you use to request items or services. This session will cover how to create a requisition, blanket POs, receiving, change requests, return to vendor, direct connect and special orders. Participants will be introduced to the IStar Learning Network where they may access on-demand, just-in-time online training.

iStar: Reports and Inquiries (Commitment Control and General Ledger)

Time: 3 pm - 5 pm
This session will introduce you to the iStar Commitment Control and General Ledger online inquiry and process scheduler reporting tools. Inquiries to be explored are: Budgets Overview Inquiry, Budget Details Inquiry and Trial Balance Report. Query Viewer will be discussed (participants will need access to query viewer). PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE iSTAR ACCESS TO COMMITMENT CONTROL, GENERAL LEDGER AND REPORTING TOOLS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPANT IN THIS CLASS.

Active Classroom Operation: Engaging Student Learning

Active Classroom Operation workshop will teach you how to maximize and take full advantage of all of the great features of the Active Classroom equipment such as advanced operation of the projector, computer network, document camera, and VCR. This workshop will enable you to properly and efficiently use the Active Classrooms.

Open Lab: ANGEL Learning Management System

Time: Walk in any time between 9 am - Noon
Description: This open lab will allow online and hybrid faculty who will be working in the ANGEL Learning Management System (LMS) the opportunity to work one-on-one with an instructional technologist or instructional designer from LSC-Online to solve course specific technical questions. This time can also be used to discuss and explore new technologies and innovations in online learning and how they might be implemented in your online or hybrid course.

Open Lab: Faculty Instructional Technology

Description: This open lab session will acquaint faculty with a variety of technology tools provided by LSCS. This is an opportunity for faculty to work one-on-one with an instructional technologist or instructional designer to work thru specific technical questions. This time can also be used to discuss and explore new technologies and innovations in online learning such as tools for communicating with students, developing online materials, and how they might be implemented in your course(s).Registration: Not required, walk-ins are welcome.
